IOBit’s Advanced SystemCare
Just recently I got an e-mail from PCWorld saying that I could download a free version of IOBit’s Advanced SystemCare. So of course I download it to test it out! Advanced SystemCare does everything from spyware removal, to cleaning up the registry, to removing junk files, and optimizing your system, to defragmenting, and analyzing your system security! It also includes a few other applications such as: Disk Cleaner, Disk Doctor, File Shredder, Game Booster, Internet Booster, IObit Security 360, Smart Defrag, IObit Registry Defrag, Shortcut Fixer, and Smart RAM. I loaded this application on my Windows 7 Professional computer and gave it a go. I was instantly happy with the program. The layout was easy to use, and made results easy to understand. After running all of the scans and fixes I definitely noticed a speed increase, and I even noticed an increase in the internet speed after I ran the Internet Booster(I went to speedtest.net before and after I ran it. I was so pleased that I took it home and ran it on my wife’s computer that had spyware preventing it from accessing the internet and some services from starting. After I ran the fixes, the computer connected with no problems! I’m very happy with this application and I’m even considering buying the Pro version which has Automated Care, and Scans, as well as increases your internet speed even more! The full version runs at just $19.95 for a 1 year license, a great price to have all of these features in one easy to use application.

Insignia - 46” LED-LCD HDTV
My wife and I just purchased this TV a few weeks ago, and I just wanted to write a brief review. This TV was very inexpensive for a LED-TV, and it had good reviews at Best Buy(See Here…). We got it home and un-boxed it. This TV came with a stand as well as component cables(which I use for my DVR). We got everything hooked up, turned it on, switched the TV to an HD channel and stood back amazed. This TV has 120Hz refresh rate at 1080p, it also has four HDMI, one VGA, and one composite/component input. After testing the TV it does great for cable and movies. The only issue I have with it is when playing games it tends to lag. I did take my x-box down to 720p, and changed the refresh rate to 60Hz and it seemed to resolve that issue. The other thing that makes these new LED-TV’s so amazing is their depth. This TV is 1 3/8” deep, which gets rid of all the clutter of the rear projection or CRT TV’s! Overall I would rate this TV a 9/10. The only thing that would make this better is if the lag was not there during gaming.

Apple’s iPad
April 3, 2010…This was the release date for Apple’s new iPad. The iPad is a tablet computer running a 9.7 inch display. This display is a scratch and fingerprint resistant screen running at 1024x768 resolution. There are three different Solid State Drive(SSD) options available. These options are 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB. It connects to the wireless via 802.11n, or bluetooth. Weighing in at 1.5lbs this lightweight computer is great for browsing the internet, sharing pictures, or word processing. I have had a chance to play around with one of these at Best Buy, and it is amazing. The typing is not as good as I would have liked it to be, but with the ability to resize pictures with two fingers, or move to the next photo or page with the swipe of a finger, it is definitely worth the money. Dell Studio XPS 8100
So this past weekend decided to purchase this computer for office administrative work! The specs on the Dell Studio XPS 8100 are amazing:
Intel i7-860 Quad-Core Processor
8GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM
ATI Radeon HD5770 High Definition Video Card
1TB SATA Hard Drive
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
Front Panel Media Card Reader
8 USB Ports
Integrated 802.11n Wireless Card
Dual Layer DVD Burner
I also purchased the upgrade from Windows 7 Home Premium to Ultimate 64-bit. After I got everything installed and configured properly I was extreamly pleased with this PC! It boots up to the login screen in under 30 seconds, has beautiful graphics, and allows you to easily work in as many files as you want. This PC is definitely worth the money, as was the upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate. Ultimate allows you to run Virtual XP Mode. XP mode is an intigrated version of XP which allows you to run all of your legacy software on it! Now you don’t have to worry about the compatibilty as you did with Vista. Overall I would rate the PC a 9.5/10, and Windows 7 Ultimate a 9/10. Feel free to e-mail .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) if you have any questions about this either one of these systems.

3D HDTV’s - What it’s all about
So many of you may have heard it in the news, or from a friend that they are coming out with 3D TV’s. Well it’s definitely true! Major companies including LG, Samsung, Panasonic, Sony, Toshiba, and Vizio are all making these new TV’s. Now you don’t see the 3D without the glasses, which of course you knew, but these aren’t just any glasses. These are Active Liquid Crystal Shutter Glasses, LC Shutter Glasses for short. They work off a process called alternate-frame switching to make the image look 3D. What happens is a small amount of voltage is applied to the crystals which makes them “dark”. The glasses sync up with the TV to switch from eye to eye at 120 frames per second rate. This rate is high enough not to bother most people’s eyes, and it is definitely not noticeable. Just image the possibilities, watching sports, or races in 3D, or even better…watching a Blue-ray movie in 3D! These new TV’s are going to help the viewers feel like they are actually at the game, or standing in the middle of the action.

EVGA Interview 1700 Dual Display Monitor
Do you have meetings in your office and need to share your screen with others in the room? EVGA just made this easier. The EVGA InterView Dual Display monitor has two 17” screens on a single base! Each screen has the capability to rotate 180 degrees on a vertical or horizontal axis. That’s right, you can now easily flip one monitor around so others in your office can see what’s on your display(if the screen is cloned), or on your extended display. The video display drivers automatically rotate the image on the screen when the screen is flipped. Other pro’s for this awesome new display are that it has three built in USB ports, a microphone, 1440x900 resolution and a 1.3 mega pixel webcam! Now like all consumer products there are pro’s and cons. The con’s to this are as follows: the only thing that can be adjusted from the monitor is brightness, while it supports DVI-I, DVI-D, and VGA there is no HDMI port(since a lot of things are moving over to HDMI now days it’s a shame this doesn’t have at least one port, PC World also stated that this monitor is very difficult to set up on the software end(read more from PC World here.) The only other downside is the outrageous price of $649, which would be well worth it in a work environment where the rotating screens can come in handy!

New Dell Multi-Touch
Dell has just released two new touchscreen computers! One is a the Dell Studio One 19(a 19” all-in-one desktop PC), and the second is the Dell Studio 17(a 17” Laptop). Both of these new PC’s support what I think is one of Windows 7’s coolest features…Multi-Touch! Now you can resize windows, zoom in on pictures, go to the next or previous pictures or webpages, even copy, paste, undo, and redo! While the Windows 7 touch functions are still a little buggy it makes for a very futuristic feeling. The Dell Studio One 19 and the Dell Studio 17 are very speedy machines, with wi-fi capabilities as well as DVD drives! These are a must have for someone looking for the next big thing.
